The projects below are samples of our capabilities, but these were completed while our team worked at another agency. These are not Vertical River projects, but are shared here for confidential reference only.

MAL-ED Study (FNIH)

Living with IBD

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Foundation for the National Institute of Health collaborated with MAL-ED and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to create a video that could inform and educate viewers on the relationships between intestinal infections, nutrition and other environmental factors, and how these things affect the developmental years of children across Africa, Asia, and South America.

For this project the team created three distinct styles that the whiteboard animation could be drawn in. We defined the style and look of the animation. In addition, we created the storyboards based off of a script to assist in the flow of the project and final video.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The American Gastroenterological Association wanted a simple and clean way to give tips to individuals living with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and decided on the use of a whiteboard animation.

The team was tasked with creating the style and look of the illustrations for the whiteboard, as well as creating the storyboards based off of a script to accommodate the flow of the final video.

StayWell: This is Who We Are - Nick Bilz

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

(Animation starts at 1:23)

This video was part of a series called “This is Who We Are” to showcase and feature the different and interesting individuals working at the StayWell company.

This was a collaboration of live action and animation. For this project we created some flat-shaded illustrations to help embellish the adventures Nick Bilz told. We did some minor compositing of a 2D map into Nick’s sunglasses, seen at 1:23. At timecode 1:30 to 2:01, are the animations and illustrations provided for the story beats.
